How to make a new teapot become an old one to
keep the fragrance of the tea (ZFHUANG)
As
all tea drinkers feel in daily life , even using the same tea, it makes big
differences when we use a new yixing teapot or we use an old one.
This is because that the longer we use a
teapot, the smoother the inside surface of the teapot will be,and the softer
the material of the teapot will be,then it will help to keep the fragrance of
the tea because the pores between the clay and the sand are open enough. What
makes it possible is because that yixing teapot is made of a kind of Porous
material which has Dual pore structure,it has micro pores ,high density and
good adsorption. And the material of a new teapot is hard and tight,the pores
are not open enough, so it can’t make the tea as goog as a old one.
If you want to make a new teapot keep the
fragrance as an old one in a short period of time ,you can try the following
methods :
(1) wash the new pot with warm water both
inside and outside;
(2) put the new teapot into cold water than
steam it for an hour;
(3) remove the new teapot from the
steamer, cool it down in the air naturally;
(4) steam it again for an hour, then cool
it down and use it to make tea.
The pores would open more and the clay
would be softer after being Steamed ,then the new teapot can make good tea.
